Assess Al-kindy college of medicine within a weekly activities of continuing education unit at the college educational lectures in various fields of science in general and with medical fields in particular  and the lecture of this week was on Lead (pb) is an elemental heavy metal found naturally in the environment as well as in manufactured products.

Historic major sources of lead air emissions were motor vehicles and industrial sources

Motor vehicle emissions have been reduced by the phasing out of leaded gasoline, but lead is still used in general aviation gasoline for piston engine aireral.

Lead that is emitted into the air can be inhaled or can be ingested, primarily through contact

Lead smelters, incinerators and fuels are the major sources of lead pollutant.

Lead interferes with a variety of body process and is toxic to many organs and tissues including the hearty bone, kidney, intensive and reproductive and nervous system.

The WITO consider the poisoning level is 40-50µg/dl.
